A friend once told me that looking at my pictures gave him a better understanding of who I am. In reality it is not so much a reflection of who I am, but of all that God reveals to me.

As Christians we should constantly be awestruck by God’s creativity, by the beauty of this world, and by His willingness to share it with a people who do so much to ruin that beauty. We are undeserving and yet in spite of this He made and continues to make this earth we live on a breathtaking sight to behold.

Standing on the beach this summer, I took over 200 pictures. It was overwhelming… to capture the ocean on film is to see one tiny fraction of His greatness for a viewfinder can only hold so much of such a vast ocean and barely does justice to who God is.

Thanks for the beautiful picture, and the more beautiful thoughts. The ocean is so awe-inspiring, so, well... big, and only the deadest soul doesn't feel small standing next to it. Even a picture is enough to spark a hint of a reminder of what it feels like to be there. Yet the ocean is so small compared to its, to our, Creator. I've been thinking a lot about this lately... about our Creator, who, amazingly, is our Redeemer, our Comforter, our Lord and our God, and what it means to have as my identity, my real and true identity, being His child: living within His grace, His providence, even though through mortal eyes the world seems more than occasionally arbitrary and cruel. Maybe, Feather, you and Winter and your crew have been a good witness to me, reminding me of how to see. Thanks for sharing...

I like to be encouraging. In fact while I have difficulty being positive for myself a lot of the time and tend towards cynicism when I have to deal with people.

But like I told a friend not long ago, my experiences and my joys should be shared because they are my "tools" to help others and if I'm lucky to put a smile on someone else's face.
