I’m in the middle of something and I can’t see. What am I missing?
About a month and a half ago I was having this conversation with a friend, he said “man, God must have something big for you”.
I had just finished telling him all that I was involved in with church and work, as well as maybe going back to school for my masters.
You have no idea how much I want to believe what he said. But my question remains, what am I missing and why does right now bother me so much?

It's stretching out in front of me-- and I don't even know what "it" is.

Maybe, your not missing anything at all. You've told me before to be patient. God will let you know what it is when the time comes. (He has a knack for that sort of thing.)
When I was in college, one of my professors referred to that time as a "ministry of preparation." Bible college students were always keen to want to rush past the drudgery of classes and get to "real" ministry.
God is using you now, in the place you are at, for purposes both known and unknown to you. In the process, He is preparing you for the purposes of tomorrow... which may be more dramatic than today, but won't be any bigger. What could be bigger than touching lives for Christ? That is what you do online all the time, and I have no doubt that is what you do in the physical space you dwell in.
I appreciate the words from you both, thanks :)
It's that faith thing-God told Abram to go "to the land I will show you." He doesn't always point out the clear path and destination (I don't know that He ever does!) Your task is follow to the best of your discernment and ability along the way. Not the most comfortable of ways to journey, but comfort is overrated :)
